San Francisco: Whoever the Vandals Are, They’re Lowlife Scum

Some ass, or asses, spray-painted Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in the Castro Saturday night, making references to “PROP H8″ and singling out the church’s two biggest self-appointed enemies of equality, the Pope, and Archbishop George Niederauer.

Of course we condemn the vandalism. And when the LGBT community is being blamed (falsely, I’m certain) of “violence” and other anti-social acts by the homophobe brigades, we want to find the vandals ourselves and lock them up forever.

However, I am not convinced the vandals were actually anti-8 queers, as our opponents, who are relishing this story, are so eager to assume. No gay person in his or her right mind would tag a church in the Castro (you know the old saying: “You don’t s#!t where you eat”), and especially not Most Holy Redeemer, which is known (even to us Peninsula-ites) to be as gay-friendly as a Catholic church can be.

My gut says this, like the alleged “white powder” incident at the Mormon temple, is another false flag.

And I fully expect more. We’re up against a desperate lot of radical homophobes who “won” through a campaign of shameless, baldfaced lies, which continues to this day; do you think they’re actually above framing us for crimes they only wish we would commit?
