Oral Roberts U. Suit: Witness List Makes for Fascinating Reading

The names that jump out from the list of some 125 witness slated for Tim and Paulita Brooker’s lawsuit against Oral Roberts University is fascinating.

For those who came in late:

Originally, three former ORU professors filed suit against ORU, alleging misuse by ORU president Richard Roberts of university funds and other resources — including students — for everything from remodeling the Roberts’ home (eleven times in fourteen years!), involvement in a mayoral race, having university employees doing Roberts’ daughter’s homework, using ORU’s private jet to fly said daughter and her friends to Disney World, and more.

Things got really interesting when attention turned to the way Roberts’ wife, Lindsey, was burning through money — and who she was said to be burning it on…

While you catch up (or just refresh your memory), we’re going to plow through the names on the witness list, and see who we can find — besides, that is, the big, big names, which include telefundamentalcase Benny Hinn, ex-Congressmen Bob Beauprez and Jim Traficant, United Church of Christ Bishop Carlton Pearson, and steriodal-looking Tulsa pastor Bill Scheer, as well as Richard and Lindsay Roberts, four of their nannies, and Grand Poobah Oral Roberts himself.

This is going to be one fun court case!
